Hairfacts hairstyle competition set to be held at Bulawayo Theatre

The show will be the first of its kind, but the organisers are hoping that this year’s competition will be the springboard for similar events in the coming year.

In an interview, organiser of the awards show, Patrick Madanga, said all was in place for the show, which will be the first of its kind to be held in the city.

“Everything is in place for the show and everyone with interest in hairstyling from Bulawayo has been invited to participate in this one of a kind event that’s in honour of our hairstylists in the city,” he said.

Madanga said they had invited three veteran hairstylists from South Africa and Botswana to judge the final competition to avoid any bias in the final judging for the winner.

“We have invited three hairstylists from South Africa and Botswana whose names we will reveal in due course. We did this so as to prevent any bias in determining our final winner,” he said.

Entertainment on the night will be provided by KS from South Africa while preliminary judging for the show will be done at Bulawayo Theatre between 4 and 6 pm.

“Besides the awards show we will keep the people  entertained through music and dance. The entertainment for the night will be provided by KS from South Africa who will be supported by various dance groups based locally,” he said.

The event is being sponsored by ESATS, Rum yet Enterprises, BES College, Jet Stores and Maryrose Fashions among others. The winner’s prize will be sponsored by Edgars. A raffle draw will also be conducted during the show which will see one lucky audience member walk away with gift vouchers from the numerous sponsors.
