Half marathon set to be bigger, better

Blessing Malinganiza

MUSABVUNDA half marathon event organiser, Tafadzwa Masango, says this year’s event will be bigger and better.

The event is set for this Sunday at the RBZ Sports Club in Mabelreign, Harare.

More than a thousand participants are reported to have registered for the event.

“We are very happy with the response we received  from the people around the country because  it was our target to register 1000 participants and we are happy that the event is already sold out.

“We have already closed the registration as we have reached our target and our  aim remains the same as Musabvunda.

“We always want to create a platform for people from all walks of life to come together with one aim of working towards fitness and sport.

“We believe that a healthy nation is a productive nation hence we are aiming to reach all age-groups by offering a variety of fitness activities.”

He added:

“There will also be jumping castles for kids, face painting and family games just to add more activities for the participants.

“So, it is our target that we contribute in ensuring that fitness and health become a lifestyle and not a once-off event.”

The half marathon and family fun day comes with a 1,5 km race for kids and 5km, 10km and 21,1km for adults.
