Chicken Inn 0-0 Herentals
CHICKEN Inn and Herentals go to the breather having spent the first 45 minutes sizing each other, creating chances, yet failing to get a goal.
Play was distributed well at both halves of the field. Herentals, however had a good run. They piled pressure, enjoyed possession and made good of all the ball they had on attack. Their intent was seen with the quick set they had with corner kicks.
Chicken Inn had their first try at goal in the opening stages but Man Hampo’s effort was blocked. He had managed to control a pass from Vassill Kawe before unleashing a hard low shot.
From there on, Herentals were to prove they were in it, on the attack. They had chances from two corner kicks which, however were wasted.
In the 26th minute, the visitors came close to pull the opener when Innocent Benza took a set kick that went well up in goal area, only for Milton Chimedza to head over bar. Chicken Inn made an injury inspired substitution when Genius Hute came in for Temptation Chuwunga.
Then, the School Boys started to hit hard upfront, stamping authority whenever they had the possession. They were unlucky to be denied two attempts at goal by the Gamecocks defence led by captain Ian Mabhunu.
Ten minutes before the break, Ralph Kawondera had a lovely curlier from the right flank but, it was well defended back into play by Chicken Inn goalie Taimon Mvula. Luckily for the homestead, there were no takers.
