AS the International Handball Federation (IHF) Trophy Zone VI tournament draws closer, Zimbabwe’s junior (Under-20) and youth (Under-18) men’s teams final camp hangs in balance due to financial constraints.
The regional competition is set to run from April 28 to May 3 in Lusaka, Zambia.
The squads last met in March at Harare High School.
ZHF president Taurai Muberekwa said they are planning to have the teams back in camp from April 12 to 27 but revealed they are currently facing financial challenges.
“We are still struggling to get the boys into camp. But our wish is to get into the camp as early as the 12th of April to the 27th when they will be travelling,” said Muberekwa.
Zimbabwe are the defending champions in the junior category, and the side would want to return to the tournament to try and retain the title.
Their youth were the runners-up at the previous edition held in 2024.
