adminLONDON. — Bayern Munich have slapped a ban on Pep Guardiola signing any of their stars when he becomes Manchester City boss.
Guardiola will replace Manuel Pellegrini in June after the English Premier League soccer giants confirmed the worst kept secret in European football.
The Spanish boss has agreed a £15m-a-season deal and will be given unlimited funds to spend on new signings.
But Starsport can reveal Guardiola will not be allowed to raid his old club for the likes of Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski when he becomes City boss.
It is understood Bayern bosses have struck a verbal agreement with Guardiola that he won’t attempt to plunder their squad.
The news is a setback, with Guardiola a huge admirer of Lewandowski in particular as he looks to sign a top class striker to ease the burden on Sergio Aguero.
It also means Guardiola will not be able to target the likes of Mario Gotze, Arturo Vidal, Arjen Robben and Thiago Alcantara.
The news will also be a huge boost to neighbours Manchester United, who have put striker duo Muller and Lewandowski on their summer shopping list.
Guardiola is in the process of drawing up a list of targets he will give to City’s billionaire owner Sheikh Mansour as he looks to turn them into Champions League winners. — The Daily Star.
