Rooney, Darmian ruled out

MANCHESTER. — Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has been left out of their Europa League first-leg soccer tie against Danish side FC Midtjylland today.

Full-back Matteo Darmian also misses out after dislocating his shoulder on Saturday against Sunderland.

Donald Love, who made his first-team debut in the loss against the Black Cats, is included in the squad.

Youngsters Regan Poole, Joe Riley and James Weir make the trip and could make their senior debuts for the Red Devils.

Rooney has scored seven goals in his last nine games but was missing from the flight to Scandinavia.

United enter the competition at the last-32 stage after finishing third in their Champions League group. — AFP.
