adminaka Tehn Diamond, the latest to emerge on the scene have been christened the “Happy People”, because they present a carefree attitude in their hit songs “Madrinks” and “Happy”.
Living true to their “happy” trademark, the dynamic duo has set tongues wagging with controversial punch lines.
“Sunday vamwe vari kwaMakandiwa isu tichigocha nyama nekudhakiwa,” goes some of their lyrics.
Junior Brown says he does not go to church.
“I do not go to church at all although I believe in God. That is basically how my Sundays are like. I hangout at my favourite spot with my favourite people and just booze,” he said.
“After all, we cannot all trek to Makandiwa. It is a Sunday tradition for some but just not us,” added Tehn Diamond, Junior Brown’s ally.
The songs “Madrinks” and “Happy” which became club anthems and received massive airplay on Star FM depict the life of typical boozers. In their defence, they say the song was tailored to bring out a summer party theme for the festive season.
The “Madrinks” video is currently in progress with Junior Brown having engaged his directors who are working on the script.
Besides the club bangers, the “Happy People” are riding high with the official release of “Happy” on New Year’s Eve. The High Definition video features the pair partying it up with a group of ladies clad in swimwear and having the time of their lives.
“Our resolution for this year is to have a video follow-up for every song that we are going to do. In March we are releasing a compilation album that features Tehn and Junior Brown’s songs since we are going to be working together throughout the year.
“Not a lot of people are doing what we do so we have decided to take it to the next level. Hip-hop is no longer about selling CDs but making money out of the music. We have come up with a business plan that will see us making money from themed T-shirts, caps and everything else that is why you see the happy trademark all over,” said Tehn Diamond.
