Harare Agricultural Show opens on low note

Most of exhibitors said they recorded low business while others said they received few visitors on their stands.
Harvey Tile exhibitor Mr Lemmy Mashingaidze said the first day of the show is not usually busy in terms of business.
“Of course people have been visiting our stand and inquiring on our products but we expect business to pick as the show progresses,” he said.
Ice cream vendors also complained of low business and said they expected the weekend to be better.
Show goers were treated to displays from drum majorettes, horse riding and jumping castles for children.
Zimbabwe Agriculture Society public relations manager, Ms Heather Madombwe confirmed the low attendance and attributed it to the recent long holiday.
“We had about 2 000 people visiting the Exhibition Park and we expect the number to increase as the show progresses,” she said.
