Harare amateur golf championship tees off

the third tournament of the qualifiers.
United States-based golfer, Scot Vincent, is leading the qualifiers.
Vincent won the Chapman Grand Slam before coming second in the Manicaland and Midlands Amateur tournaments to remain on top of the order of merit.
Ray Badenhoist is second in the race.
There will be two representatives from each participating country.
Tournament director, Boniface Chigorimbo, said all is in place for the event and most golfers were ready for the challenge.
“The three-day four-rounds tournament tees off at Warren Hills.
“The amateur tournaments have improved this season and most of the players did very well when they played with professionals last week.
“The tournament is divided into four categories with the championship Division, A Division, B Division and C Division.
“The championship Division will have players with zero to six handicap with the seven to 12 handicap falling in the B Division, 13 to 18 will be in the C Division.
“We look forward to a good competition from the players as the tournament carries points for the World Amateur Championships.”
Meanwhile, two corporate golf days are scheduled for today at Royal and Chapman.
Altifin Insurance will host a tournament that will have 96 players at Royal while MBCA Bank will have a 52-player field at Chapman.
