Speaking at the Cop of the Year awards ceremony in Harare recently, Officer Commanding Crime Harare South Assistant Commissioner Adolf Moyo said the public should help police thwart crime.

“This calls for the police and the public to vigorously work together to reduce this trend,” he said.
Asst Comm Moyo said police would continue working hard to reduce crime. He said police would intensify operations, including foot and cycle patrols, as well as carrying out awareness campaigns to reduce crime.

“Let’s join hands to fight crime and leave a memorable record to our future generations,” said Asst Comm Moyo.
He assured the nation that the police force would continue striving to deliver quality services as outlined in the Police Service Charter. Three Constables were rewarded for their outstanding work in fighting crime this year. These were Constables Gift Jeche of Mabvuku, Peter Masakure of Mabvuku and Paradzayi Kahari of Ruwa.

They were presented with certificates of competence and cash prizes.
