Harare District receives Presidential farming inputs

to ensure adequate food security for the nation, a Zanu-PF official has said.
Zanu-PF Harare District Co-ordinating Committee 4 chairman, Cde Jaison Passade, made the remarks when he received 35 tonnes of ammonium nitrate fertiliser earmarked for distribution in the district on Tuesday.
“We urge every beneficiary from the programme to put the inputs to good use.
“The country needs to produce as much as it can to ensure that we defeat our detractors who want our agricultural revolution that started with the land reform to fail,” Cde Passade said.
Cde Passade said the distribution of the inputs would be done in a transparent manner without any political considerations.
“The distribution is being done transparently and anyone who wants to benefit is free to come to the centres where the distribution will be taking place,” said Cde Passade.
“The President is the leader of us all and we will not discriminate on party lines. A lot of families have been facing challenges to buy inputs given the reluctance of Finance Minister Tendai Biti to fund agriculture.
“People should therefore put the inputs to good use as a way of thanking President Mugabe for his efforts.”
DCC4 will receive a total of 90 tonnes of AN fertiliser and has already received 35 tonnes of maize seed. The district is targeting to harvest at least 6 000 tonnes of maize.
