His Worship the Mayor, Cllr Jacob Mafume has urged residents to read and familiarise themselves with the Harare Master Plan to avoid potential controversies.
Speaking at the Employees Wellness Funfair at Rowan Martin last week, Mayor Mafume emphasized the importance of the Master Plan which serves as a guideline for new developments in the City. He warned that failure to comply with the Master Plan could result in unexpected changes that might disrupt future plans.
“Go and read the new Master Plan, you might wake up one day having your house being demolished because it will be an area designed for waste management,” he said.
Mayor Mafume stressed that the Master Plan is a crucial document that outlines possible changes and developments in specific areas.
“The Master Plan is a very important document, which specifies the new developments that might be happening in a particular area,” he added.
By reading the Master Plan, residents can be better prepared for upcoming changes and avoid potential conflicts with the city’s proposed plans.
This initiative is part of the City of Harare’s efforts to engage with residents and promote transparency in governance.
