Harare recognised for transport excellence

The City of Harare has been honoured with an award from the Zimbabwe Institute of Transport and Logistics (ZITL).
The city’s performance in transport and logistics management earned it the top spot at the ZITL 2024 awards ceremony that was held on October 25, 2024.

Council head of transport, Mr Obert Mutonhori expressed excitement over the achievement, highlighting the city’s dedication to efficient and effective transport solutions.

“The council was recognised for its outstanding Urban and Rural Best Fleet Initiative, securing a platinum award,” Mr Mutonhori said.

Mr Mutonhori was also honoured as the best transport manager, while Ms Fungisai Munemo was recognised for her contribution as a leading woman in the local authority’s transport sector.

Mr Alexio Chingame, Engineer Calvin Chigariro, Mr Liberty Taru, and Mr John Manyau were awarded certificates of competence in ISO 3900 Road Traffic Safety Management System Lead Implementers.
