HARDROCK IN FAKE ID STORM

HARDROCK’S dream of playing Premier Soccer League football next year is on the line after stunning claims that the Kwekwe side used a player with a fake identity.

The promotion chasing club, trailing leaders Sheasham by just five points, are accused of fielding former Dulibadzimu leftback Ephany Gwawawa under a new name and age.

Gwawawa, whose Dulibadzimu licence shows he was born in Seke on July 6, 2001, is said to have reappeared at Hardrock as “Tanyaradzwa Godfrey Tsiga,” born August 15, 2007, to qualify as an under-20 developmental player.

The scandal burst open after ZRP Gwanda lodged a formal complaint with the Central Region Soccer League (CRSL) following their August 9 match at Baghdad, where Hardrock won 3-0.

Part of the letter read:

“This letter serves to officially lodge our complaint against Hard Rock Football Club for fielding a player named Ephany Gwawawa, who is known to be registered by Dulibadzimu United FC, where he played matches in the first half of the 2025 CRSL season.”

The said player featured in our match against Hard Rock F.C played at Baghdad Stadium in Kwekwe on 09/08/25.

“Surprisingly he was using the name Tanyaradzwa Tsiga Registration ID: 010989M07 and wearing jersey number 12.

“He was fielded for the whole duration of the match playing the leftback position.”

Through our preliminary investigations we have established that the player in question Ephany Gwawawa is a Dynamos FC player who was registered on loan to Dulibadzimu United for the 2025 season.

“He moved to Hard Rock FC during the mid-season window where he is featuring with completely different registration particulars.”

Despite the explosive claims, the CRSL has yet to act more than a month later.

Region administrator Gift Nyapomwe yesterday bristled when asked how Zimpapers Sport obtained the letter but admitted receiving the complaint.

“Yes we received the complaint about that from ZRP Gwanda and we are carrying out the necessary investigations,” said Nyapomwe.

“If necessary, the case will be taken to the Disciplinary Committee.”
