HARDROCK scored probably a record 13 goals in the ZIFA Central Region Soccer League after thrashing Gokwe North FC 13-0 in Gokwe on Wednesday.

The scoreline could be one of the biggest winning margins in the region.

Donald Ngoma scored six, Tinashe Mashaireni and Blessing Sibanda a brace apiece, then Last Nyilenda, Benedict Sithole and Devine Zulu a goal each.

The Kwekwe-based side are in a tight battle for promotion against log leaders Sheasham FC as both teams are eyeing the sole ticket into the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

Ahead of the match, Hardrock had an inferior goal difference to that of Sheasham by 17 goals but used the match against the Gokwe side to trim that to just five goals.

Sheasham FC on the other hand, gave a good fight, edging Air Force of Zimbabwe side Chapungu 1 – 0 at Bata Stadium.

Wilfred Madzungu scored for Mabhiridha.

The Construction Boys now have 69 points, two more than second-placed Hardrock and eight better than Gwanda Pirates in third spot.
