‘Haters gonna hate’…no matter how much we try

Shakira Curry, Grade 7 – Gateway Primary School

WE were not born to hate ourselves; call ourselves ugly or tell ourselves we are not worth it. Haters make us tell ourselves that we aren’t worth it; that we should end it right here. But God never wants anything bad for us!

Haters are gonna hate but we’ve got to love ourselves for who we are.

My grandpa would always say “no matter how much we try and impress people, there will always be that one person who brings us down!”

We shouldn’t let people get us down.

I’ve learnt in my life that haters are just there to make us feel bad about ourselves; they want us to react badly to the things they say to or about us.

But haters can also make us stronger depending on how we deal with them.

Being a student in grade 7 I know what students go through.

I look in the mirror and try all I can to tell myself that I’m beautiful; that God loves me and wants the best for me no matter what the haters say and I believe that we (both students and non-students) should all tell ourselves that.

I hope that as I’ve brought this article before you who are reading this today I have brought you a new hope that you are beautiful/handsome and very much worth it no matter what the haters say to you! Thank you for reading.
