THE Harare Basketball Association are set to converge at Richwood Park tomorrow for an extraordinary general meeting to decide the fate of suspended chairman Bernard Jiro.Jiro came into office in December last year after taking over from Ngoni Mukukula who allegedly assaulted Margaret Kanyimo, a basketball player, during a pre-season tournament.
However, Jiro was suspended in February over allegations that he misused funds sourced from a certain sponsor when the province hosted the club inter-provincials in the same month.
There are also allegations that he has been making decisions pertaining to the running of the association and the league without consulting the executive.
Jiro denies the allegations and says he is a victim of a power struggle.
HBA spokesperson, Carlos Munda, said the agenda of tomorrow’s meeting was the ratification by clubs of the vote-of-no-confidence passed on Jiro by the executive.
“He was given a vote-of-no-confidence by the executive and he is seeking to come back. He was suspended in February.
“The clubs will decide on Saturday because the constitution says clubs are the full council.
