He claims I’m infertile, man accuses ex-friend

A HARARE man accused his former friend of having an affair with his wife and bombarding him with messages claiming he was infertile.

Tichaona Marembo applied for a peace order against his ex-friend, Talkmore Chilapula, accusing him of sending death threats and mocking him for failing to have children.

“Here are the messages in which he is insulting me by saying ndiri ngomwa.

“He is my former friend and I borrowed money from him in December for my graduation, and never refused to pay him back.

“Now he is in the habit of sending me threatening messages, saying that he is a member of the intelligence service and he will deal with me,” said Tichaona.

Talkmore told the court that Tichaona had applied for the peace order after hearing that he was about to serve him with a letter of demand.

“I oppose his application because he owes me some money.

“When I tried to contact him, I couldn’t get through to him and he was nowhere to be found.

“I called to discuss a flexi payment plan and we ended up exchanging harsh words.

“He threatened me in front of my client. He should pay me back,” said Talkmore.

Magistrate Sharon Mashavira granted Tichaona the peace order.
