FORMER Dynamos and CAPS United striker, Clive “Kaka” Kawinga has hailed the determination of his brother, Denver Mukamba, to try and make another big impact in the domestic Premiership.
Kawinga insists Mukamba is now a changed man.
Mukamba was handed an earn-as-you-play contract by Dynamos after his dismissal from Ngezi Platinum Stars.
His return triggered mixed feelings among the Glamour Boys fans with some claiming he is now past his peak.
But, a sizable number also fought in his corner, arguing that his creativity is what the club want right now.
“I grew up with Denver and it’s something which everyone knows but I have never seen him with this level of dedication,” said Kawinga.
“People are always labelling him but if there’s something which is rarely acknowledged then it is his ability to handle criticism.
“He is very strong and it’s not easy for any player to keep going with the bad boy tag but I can assure you that Dynamos will not regret their decision.”
He added.
“I don’t need him to tell me when he is feeling good but from what I have seen, he is hungry to deliver his best.
“And, it’s a boost for him that he has completed the full pre-season, everyone knows what he can bring to the table when he is fully fit.
“I want to urge the Dynamos family to be supportive and I believe this could be his best season.”
Kawinga battled with a groin injury for the better part of his career.
It eventually forced him to throw in the towel last season when he was trying his luck at Simba Bhora.
Dynamos are set to welcome Hwange at Barbourfields on Saturday.
The coalminers will be using this venue, as in their home ground, until they get the nod from ZIFA to return to their fortress at the colliery.
