adminKennedy Kanganiso Madeya (62) and Chiedza Changambika (28) appeared before the town’s magistrate, Mr Takawira Mugabe, charged with theft. However, the State withdrew charges against Madeya before plea and the latter may proceed by way of summons.
Changambika was not asked to plead to the charges and was rema-nded to January 10 on US$300 bail.
Prosecutor Mr Charles Muchemwa alleged that during the period between May 2009 and July 2011 the duo made some under-banking and pocketed more than US$12 000.
Mr Muchemwa alleged that the bursar was privately using a school development Association receipt book number 13 to receipt school levy. The receipt book was allegedly recovered from her friend. Mr Muchemwa further alleged that an audit report was conducted at the school and discovered some anomalies in the school’s banking methods.
