SIMBA Bhora coach Tonderai Ndiraya believes Yadah’s Heart Stadium is “world class” and the best football facility in the country.
The stadium, which was officially opened by President Mnangagwa in December last year, staged its first match, a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League encounter between Yadah and Simba Bhora on Saturday.
Ndiraya and his charges claimed a 2-1 win to move into third place on the league standings.
“I think it is one of the best stadiums in the country. I am tempted to say that it is a world class stadium according to our standards and, yes, it is the best stadium we have so far in the country.
“It is a great facility,” said Ndiraya.
The Simba Bhora coach said the playing surface had been conditioned to allow free flowing football.
“The playing surface is great. It allows you to play your football without any problems, not mentioning the dressing rooms.
“Like I said, this is a great stadium, “ said Ndiraya.
The Heart Stadium received a temporary homologation last week to pave way for hosting matches while some outstanding issues are being sorted out.
Yadah chairman, Everson Chatambudza, said all was in place for them to put final touches on areas that needed attention so that the stadium fully complies with the Football Inspection Board (FIB) requirements.
“We are happy to have been given a greenlight to use Heart Stadium.
“As Yadah, we are committed to be fully compliant with the FIB requirements and we will continue working on the stadium to achieve an international status,” said Chatambudza.
Yadah coach, Thomas Ruzive has welcomed the opening of the Heart Stadium.
“We would have loved to win our first game but it did not go our way.
“We hope that in our next match we will collect maximum points. Our hope is that we will use the stadium to our advantage,” said Ruzive.
