am not intending to do anything bad but just to hang out with my friends, go out to a few parties and other stuff like that. But I will need money for clothes, fixing my hair and to spend. I also need a better mobile handset because the one I have right now is really embarrassing. But my parents are not rich and I really cannot bother them about such things because I know that they will already be making plans for my A Level fees and uniforms.
I do not want to do sugar daddies or anything like that. So my question is where can I get a holiday job so I can earn some money? I might even be able to save a bit and help my parents by contributing to my fees for next year. Please help.
With the Christmas season on us already many shops will be very busy and they may hire some temporary workers. You need to move around and just ask if anyone is interested. It may take long but do not be discouraged. There has to be someone who needs another worker. But maybe it will only be for December and in January you will have to make another plan. Anyway just go for it and grab any opportunity that comes up now. You can always look for something else when January comes.

I have been thinking about the same thing. It is funny that in Zimbabwe we want to follow how the American teens dress and speak, the food they eat and the music they listen to but we do want to follow how they earn their money. If you look at the programmes on Disney like “Good Luck Charlie”, you will see that teens do jobs like baby sitting, washing cars and being waiters and waitresses in restaurants. But here we would be embarrassed to be a domestic worker. I intend to ask around for anyone who needs someone to help out like with cutting the grass, house sitting and other odd jobs around the house and garden and I am sure I will make enough money to buy a few things.

It is very good that you are thinking of being so responsible and I do not mean to discourage you. But I must warn you that life out there is not very easy. When you look for this job be very careful that you are not dealing with some sharks. As a girl some guys might promise you work if you fall in love with them or they will give you a job then use their position to force you into being their girlfriend. So just watch out for that.

You could start your own little business. I am sure if you find something that you can buy and resell your parents will lend you some start-up money. If you take advantage of the fact that people spend a lot of money in December you can make a big profit and maybe you will have so much money that you will not even want to go back to school when the time comes.
