HERALD editorial assistant Barbra Kapichi, who died on Sunday evening, will be buried at Warren Hills Cemetery in Harare on Saturday. Kapichi, who worked for The Herald since 2003, died at Rock Foundation Hospital on Sunday evening after a long illness. According to family spokesperson Mr Aubrey Kapichi, a church service will be held at Moonlight Funeral Assurance, Corner Herbert Chitepo and Blakiston Street at 3:30pm on Friday.
Her body will then be taken to her residence in Kuwadzana Extension at Number 15177 where it will lie in state.
Said Kapichi: “As a family, it is a difficult and very sad moment for the entire family.
“It is also not easy for someone to lose a parent and it is traumatic for her daughter who is writing her O Levels. We can only pray to God for his comfort and direction.
“Burial will be on Saturday at 2pm at Warren Hills.”
Friends and colleagues continued to send their condolences to the Kapichi family.
“It is sad to part ways with a person of her calibre.
“She was someone who was great to work with and had a sober approach towards her work,” said Victoria Ruzvidzo, The Herald managing editor.
“We pray that God Almighty will continue to look after her daughter and that the dreams that she had about her daughter will be fulfilled.
“The Herald Editorial Division is poorer without Barbra.”
