HERENTALS’ TINO BENZA BACK HUNTING IN ENGLAND

TINO BENZA could be on the verge of clinching a deal in Europe after a scouting agency called him back to England.

Benza has been put in the oven for one more time with an array of top coaches fine-tuning him for a possible transfer to Europe.

The Herentals skipper, who switched from centre-forward to the wing this season, was first invited to England in July and spent three weeks in that country.

He showed some promise which has now prompted the agency to sign him up and invited him back for further logistics and a possible move.

That means the 2022 and 2023 PSL People’s Choice award winner might miss the remainder of the current season.

The credit for his transformation goes to his uncle and coach, Paul Benza, who strategically shifted him to a wide position from his traditional target man role.

Benza said he is enjoying the challenge.

“It’s been a good challenge for me, being in a different environment with high competition and expectations.

“Initially, it was tough, but I’m starting to enjoy the challenge and new experience.”

Benza acknowledged the difficulties of breaking into European teams but expressed optimism.

“Everything looks promising at the moment. I’m grasping what’s required to succeed in Europe.”

His uncle and coach, Paul, remains supportive.

“Tino’s growth has been impressive. We’re proud of him, and this opportunity is well deserved. We are just expecting the best from him because the club is still searching for that first player who will make a foreign breakthrough,” said Paul.
