Heroes, Defence Forces days an eye opener to all

THE recent Heroes’ and Defence Forces’ days commemorations were an eye-opener to all who are vested and perennial political enthusiasts.

The celebrations posted yet another intriguing episode to the usual detractors who ululate at anything anti-Zimbabwean emerging. The pro-Western lobby which has always been anti-people was left with many questions than answers as to why the people continue to throng and fill stadia to their brims in commemorating an event which has consanguinity links with the party of liberation, Zanu-PF, the ruling party.

Yes, the populace responded to the calls from the collective Zanu-PF leadership to attend the Heroes and Defence Forces’ Day celebrations in their droves.

They responded in classic styles as shown by the gigantic figures which swelled the National Sports Stadium in Harare. What a scene of exhilarated patriots who took every opportunity to gyrate and show their marksmanship in dancing as they relished the spirit of oneness which enveloped the nation. Indeed the departed and living heroes were in high spirits as they relived the heroic feats which they exhibited as they gallantly fought to liberate the nation from the satanic oppressive yoke of the racist white men led by the late diabolic Ian Douglas Smith. The nation will forever be grateful to its sons and daughters who sacrificed life and limb to liberate the nation.

One is taken aback when he then reads in one of the failed daily papers projecting a desperate political misfit, portraying him as a nationalist yet all his life controversy and a penchant for chaos remains his only recorded success thus far. This then brings me to the life and character of one loud mouthed and irrationally minded Jabulani Sibanda.

Does anyone still remember the vociferous manner in which liberation hero luminary and former Vice-President Joseph Msika resisted having Jabulani Sibanda being voted into the top echelons of power within the war veterans’ matrix? I remember vividly even the now equally confused Dumiso Dabengwa, a prominent figure within the Zimbabwe People’s Revolutionary Army (ZIPRA) even questioning the war credentials of Jabulani Sibanda. Jabu is known for his avarice for the United States dollars as shown by his forays with imperialist stooges. Isn’t it absolute stupidity and a portrayal of his landmark traitor ship traits for one supposedly known for championing the cause of the poor and down trodden as symbolized by the united Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front (Zanu-PF) to suddenly join hands with decorated sell outs in the mould of Mr Morgan Tsvangirai, a real Moise Tshombbve reincarnate? Jabulani Sibanda now wines and dines with enemies of the people, the same people who engineered the genesis and consolidation of the evil sanctions which have wreaked havoc to the economy with economists postulating the amount of revenue losses to the tune of more than $40 billion.

Yes, we understand Jabu’s quiver for relevance hence the numerous sojourns to his imperialist handlers who want to use him to depict the ruling party, Zanu-PF, and its leadership in bad light.

It is another dimension for him to then turn over with the verve of a chameleon to suggest his supposedly yester year comrades have all of a sudden become rogue elements, only because he was expelled from the party for his legendary indiscipline. Isn’t that the highest level of deception which can only escape the week minds as expected in the so-called private press?

Anyone who takes Jabulani Sibanda aboard any project should have him at his own peril as he has now mastered the art of thieving and treachery. Ask the likes of Butau who lost thousand of their green back to this loud mouthed sellout. Given the scoundrel nature of this character, even the Western founded and funded MDC-T which is desperate to lure supporters to its ever shrinking membership will definitely reject the controversy ridden Sibanda. I can imagine how the clueless opposition characters such as Mr Tendai Biti and his equally mentally perforated colleague, Mr Jacob Mafume would react if the visibly excited Jabu would approach them with the willingness to join their drowning project.

The writing is now on the wall that Jabulani Sibanda is a political prostitute who clings wherever he feels he will get an opportunity to fleece the populace. The revolutionary party took the right decision in expelling such shoddy characters from within its ranks. Imagine such a wayward and hallucinating character claiming all the accolades for liberating the country, one is suddenly injected into perennial laughter. Then the interesting revelations about the British having wanted to attack this country, all these claims gushing and oozing from Jabu’s mouth. As usual, the usual water tight security system is expected to summon and interrogate this loud mouthed fellow to explain where he got that sensitive security information. That Jabu is a sellout beyond measure has never been in doubt but for him to claim to be an expert in the current military configuration of the nation’s mighty defence forces needs serious interrogation.

As we continue with the Heroes and Defence Forces spirit, the nation should remain vigilant to the machinations of its detractors who remain ready to spoil the gains achieved this far by our collective will. It is the sacrosanct duty of every citizen to defend the nation from such sellout characters such as Jabulani Sibanda, who has increasingly become a security threat given his irrational outburst. It will be proper to remind the Jabulani Sibanda minded stooges within us that Zimbabwe will never be a colony again.
