Angeline Kamba, who has been chairing one of Africa’s biggest arts and cultural showcases since its inception in 1999.
Contacted for comment yesterday, Mutendadzamera could neither confirm nor deny the development.
Previously, Mr Mutendadamera was one of the Hifa elders and non-executive board member together with Simon Hammond, David Hatendi, Hazel Mubako, Stephen Chifunyise and Elizabeth Chitiga among others.
Manuel Bagorro is still the founder and artistic director of Hifa while his sister Maria Wilson is the executive director.
This year’s Hifa is scheduled for this April and celebrates its 14th year with a new theme yet to be announced. Last year, the festival ran under the theme “The Engagement Party” symbolised by a diamond- shaped logo which captured the mood and co-existence of the geo-economic and political sphere in Zimbabwe.
