Business partners Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu have been denied bail by the High Court.

Justice Pisirayi Kwenda ruled that despite a spirited fight by the duo, two compelling reasons initially found by the magistrate court still persist.

“I therefore find that two of the compelling reasons found by the magistrate, which are likelihood that Chimombe and Mpofu might not stand trial or are likely to interfere with State witnesses still persist and in the result the application for bail may not succeed.

“I therefore dismiss it,” ruled Justice Kwenda.
