HIGH-FLYING Agents FC maintained their hundred percent start in the Harare Super League after getting the better of the battling Americans 2-0 over the weekend.
Former Zimbabwe international, Oscar Machapa, scored a stunning insurance goal to seal the victory at Alex Sports Club.
Machapa is the driving force in the Agents FC attack and delivered the killer blow to guarantee his team another full set of points.
He found himself free, in the Americans half and, with one swing of his boot, connected sweetly with his powerful effort flying beyond the ‘keeper.
The scoreline, though, doesn’t do justice to the fine shift which the Americans put into this game in which they created some fine openings.
However, their chief striker, Tafadzwa “Izzy” Mahlengwe, the hero of their win the previous week with his double strike, had an off day at the office.
Instead, it was Agents FC who were smiling after their fourth victory on the trot and they are the only team in this social league to achieve such a feat.
Jameson Boys are within striking distance, three points adrift of the leaders, after a 4-2 win over Touch Power.
Evans Gwekwerere scored a goal, and missed a penalty, while former Zimbabwe international, Nqobizita Ncube, who played for Black Aces and Dynamos, made his debut for Jameson.
K9 and Cowboys complete the top four with nine and eight points respectively.
Telco are finding it difficult to get themselves out of the relegation picture.
They have now failed to get, at least, a point in four fixtures.
They were hammered 1-6 by Cowboys and they have already conceded a total of 18 goals.
The match featuring Europa and Position FC was abandoned in the 84th minute due to crowd trouble.
The two clubs have since been summoned for a disciplinary hearing.
