YOUNG people have been advised to move out of their comfort zones and work hard to achieve their dreams.
Addressing a Youth Empowerment Seminar, organised by AFM Zimbabwe Harare West Province, businessman Clive Chisenye,of Steelmate Investments said life was full of possibilities and young people should learn to seize them.
“Challenges are commonplace, even in the most successful nations, but I want you to awaken yourself to possibilities and start working towards achieving your dreams.
“Success favours the brave and from my experience, nothing is impossible as long as you work hard to achieve your dreams.
‘‘I am grateful to the church for such a noble initiative and it is my hope that you take advantage of such free empowerment programmes,” he said.
Chisenye is a devout Christian and sponsors one of Star FM’s flagship gospel music show, the Star FM Gospel Greats, which airs every Sunday.
His Steelmate brand has grown to be one of the leading steel producers in the country.
He narrated how his life changed from his humble beginnings in Mbare.

“Growing up, life was not a bed of roses but, thanks to hard work, relentless pursuit of my dreams and belief in God, I have made it this far.
“I want to encourage you to continue working hard and success will soon become a reality.
‘‘There is no business I have not tried from selling eggs and sacks at Mbare bus terminus as well as selling phones and other stuff.
‘‘But I found my groove with Steelmate,” he said.
Speaking at the same event, Kingdom Life Centre pastor and Harare West province overseer, Reverend Panaganai Vitalis Makarichi, said they felt duty bound to play their part in raising an empowered generation that will play its part in nation building.
“The church has a task to preach a wholesome gospel that ministers to all spheres of life.
‘‘We are taking this drive a gear up, with the ongoing youth empowerment seminars.
‘‘Over 300 youths attended the first edition in Norton and today we have over 500 in attendance.
“We want to mould our young people into responsible future businesspeople, political leaders and captains of industry.
‘‘The programme seeks to identify young people with talent and potential so that we expose them to what is in the marketplace through role modelling with various business leaders and brands by speaking and exhibiting here,” he said.
Harare West Youth provincial pastor, Ngonidzashe Chimbwanda, said young people must desist from a culture of complaining.
“Our young people are faced with a lot of challenges but that must not be the reason for them to just sit and complain. “Through these seminars, we are raising a power generation that takes matters into their hands and works to change their situation.’’
Various other business leaders gave presentations about their work and business journey.
