HIGHFIELD High 1 School’s mission is to provide quality education by imparting relevant knowledge, functional skills and cherished values to its students.

The school, which was originally built for the local African people in 1961, has always wanted to be an educational institute of excellence.

The school offers Form 1 to A-Levels and there are also non-formal education classes offered to learners from the local community.

With a total of 1537 students, the school has a wide range of technical design subjects as well as a lot of sporting, cultural and arts activities.

The school has a staff complement of 72 qualified teachers, 44 of them are degreed. 

Highfield High School also has learners with disabilities who use clutches.

School Tone

At the school are committees such as the disciplinary and guidance and counselling which work with the teachers and prefects body to ensure maximum discipline and order.

Highfield High School has successfully implemented the Heritage based curriculum from Form One up to Form Six. At Ordinary level the school is offering English language, Literature in English, Shona, Mathematics, Combined Science, Computer Science, Family and Religious Studies, History, Commerce, Principles of Accounts, Agriculture, Metalwork Technology and design, Woodwork Technology and design, Textiles Technology and Design Food Technology and design, Physical Education and Mass display and Heritage Studies

The school also offers Chemistry, Biology, Physics to “3a1 and 4a1” classes majoring in the STEM learning areas.

They offer subjects like Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Computer science, Biology, Business studies, Economics, Accounting, Geography, Agriculture, Sociology, Literature in English, Shona, Family and Religious studies and Communication skills for A ‘Level students.
