Highlanders, Hwange ladies clash

HIGHLANDERS Royals invade Hwange for a tricky encounter with Hwange Ladies at the Old Ground in a Southern Region Women Football Association match that is expected to draw a bumper crowd this morning. The recently revived Highlanders Royals were given a baptism of fire in their debut match against Blackboots who drilled five goals without reply past their goalkeeper before benefiting from a walk over after Sobukhazi failed to make it for the game last Saturday.

In other matches Street Set will want to maintain their grip at the top of the table by posting a win over fallen giants New Orleans who lost their opening match of the season. Street Set are on four points together with Hearts of Oak but enjoy a better goal difference over the Ntombi Ndlovu-inspired side.

Hearts of Oak however might shoot to the top due to a technicality unless their opponents Sobukhazi pitch up for the encounter. The clash of the uniformed sides between Blackboots and ZRP Bulawayo has been postponed.

“We are not playing this weekend, our game has been postponed, as Blackboots are still involved in the Badgers Cup,” said ZRP Bulawayo team manageres Gezelina Moyo.

Meanwhile, Highlanders Royals are set to receive a major boost following a pledge by Orap to donate 50 soccer balls to them.
