Highlanders of maximum points in the Castle Lager Premiership soccer match at Barbourfields yesterday.
Bosso have been inconsistent throughout the season and have fallen out of the championship race which is now a three-horse race between FC Platinum, Motor Action and Dynamos.
Gunners dominated in the exchanges in the first half of the match with Highlanders a disjointed lot who lost ball possession faster than they got it. Gunners were the first to score four minutes into the match and by then it seemed it was a visitors’ affair.
Highlanders’ goalkeeper Arial Sibanda failed to clear a back pass from veteran defender Innocent Mapuranga and sent the ball to Michael Katsvairo instead who was waiting in the wings.
Katsvairo shot towards goal and Sibanda again failed to effectively deal with it, resulting in the ball rebounding off his body and on to the path of Leonard Fiyado who fired home leaving the goalkeeper sprawling on the ground.
Highlanders came back a more rejuvenated side in the second half following the introduction of Bruce Kangwa for the injured Louis Matawu in the 46th minute.
Bosso were awarded a free-kick just outside the box and Kangwa sent a hard and low shot which rebounded off the post and Ncube tapped in to equalize for Bosso.
Ncube went on to score an undisputable goal in the 53rd minute before he was shown a straight red card following a crude tackle on Ali Sadiki nine minutes later.
