Hollywood style luxury rides in Zim

It was indeed the mother of all statements in the urban trends and many have been afforded the chance to be “Hollywood” celebrities and get a taste of the “A listers” — at least for as long as they can afford it. The whole city has been abuzz with these acquisitions, nevertheless; people can drool three-fold because of the two more equally stunning additions to the fleet.

The sight is a marvel.
Saturday Lifestyle took a trip to the businessman’s “roost” and the manager, Swedias Chirenda, was delighted to flaunt the beasts.

“Although the first Hummer to come through was the white one in 2010, there have been other additions. The demand for it had been too much that one Hummer was not enough,” he said.

True to the manager’s sentiments, the parade of limos have been spotted in different towns across the country. One might wonder how they manage to keep the cars in the great condition, but Chirenda revealed that they do so with so much ease.

“We run a haulage truck company as well so we have in-house mechanics who service all the cars including the Hummers. It becomes easier for us to keep them in shape,” he said

Sam’s Limos as at the centre of most high-profile weddings and other celebrations.
To earn a ride in the classic hammers, one has to be either underprivileged or have as much as US$1 500 for the day.

It is no wonder local top names; the likes of the Chiyangwas have in the hot wheels, not once but twice at their obviously flashy birthday celebrations.
The head of Interpol in Malawi has also used the services of the plush wheels for his daughter’s wedding. That is how wide they have spread their base.

“We charge US$1 500 per day or per hour, the minimum being three hours. However, we offer free rides to the underprivileged in children’s homes,” he said.
The manager revealed plans of a state-of-the art wedding and conference centre in at Beatrice Road.

“This year we added an ordinary H2 Hummer that has a magnificent blue colour.
“Like the limos, it is quite popular among the locals.

“All the limos are the latest and last line of H2 stretch hummers produced in the USA,” he said.
Amongst the plans is a move to open opening other branches in Bulawayo and Mutare as they grow.

In the United States they make limos for different kinds of cars  including the Mercedes- Benz, Range Rover and Chrysler. In the same breath, the manager hinted that the next edition to the family might just be a Chrysler stretch limousine.
There are no bounds to what these guys can do. After all, Sam’s Limos have broken a few records in Africa over the past years.
