BANKET United director of football, Gladman “Dallas” Sekawawana, believes their back-to-back wins have given them hope in the fight against relegation from the ZIFA Northern Region Division One League.
They edged visiting Commando Bullets 2-0 at Kuwadzana on Saturday.
Sekawawana said they have gathered enough of the resources the players need to survive the eject button. “I can say we are doing everything in our power to ensure the club remains in the league,” said Sekawawana.
“We didn’t have a typical start, but it’s all part of football but it’s now water under the bridge.
“We are now investing our energy in making sure that we give the players all they need to play to the best of their abilities.
“I’m super confident that we are going to survive relegation. We just need two wins from our remaining three assignments.”
The top three teams collected maximum points on Matchday 31.
Herentals Under-20, shook off their two-game winless run with a 1-0 win away at Black Mambas.
Golden Eagles also finally remembered how to win after getting the better of Harare City Cubs 2-0.
At Wadzanai, it was business as usual as Simba Bhora won 3-1 against CUMA Academy.
Simba Bhora remain in the driving seat of the league’s table, four points ahead of second-placed Herentals Under-20.
