SIX lives were lost in a chilling road disaster after a head-on collision between a haulage truck and a Nissan NV150 on the notorious Harare-Chirundu Road.
The tragic accident occurred around 11:30 AM on Thursday, 17 April 2025, at the 214km peg, sending shockwaves across the nation.
According to the police on X, the haulage truck — which had no passengers on board — smashed into the smaller vehicle carrying five passengers, all of whom died on the spot alongside the driver.
“The bodies of the victims were taken to Karoi Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem,” said police in a statement.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the deadly crash, with more details expected soon.
The Harare-Chirundu stretch has claimed lives before — and this latest bloodbath adds to its grim reputation.
