LEICESTER CITY celebrated their title triumph with a convincing 3-1 victory over Everton in front of their home faithful on Saturday but the fall out across the city has hit hospital resources hard.
The mother of all parties has been building up for several months, with Leicester fans preparing to celebrate a first-ever top-flight title success, and the Foxes certainly delivered on Saturday night.
Supporters flooded into Leicester from all parts of the world to be part of the memorable evening, but the festivities were all too much for some as reportedly twice as many patients attended their three major hospitals overnight.
Leicester Hospitals Trust — who run the Royal Infirmary, General and Glenfield hospitals — admitted they had “felt the effect” of Claudio Ranieri’s title success and urged people to not visit the accident and emergency clinic unless it was necessary.
The City fans have been singing about Jamie Vardy’s party all season but certainly made the most of their own celebrations! — Goal
