Housemaid jailed

The 17-year-old girl had denied aggravated indecent assault charges levelled against her.
However, Chitungwiza regional magistrate Mr Temba Kuwanda convicted her after a full trial.
Mr Kuwanda sentenced the girl to five years in prison but set aside three years on condition of good behaviour.
The girl stunned the court when she blamed her conduct on hormonal disorder.
In sentencing her, Mr Kuwanda noted that the maid lost both parents and lacked proper guidance, a factor he said contributed to her wayward behaviour.
“Against you, the court took into account . . . that you repeatedly sexually abused the boy for a month. Such a conduct exposes the boy to great risk of contracting the prevalent deadly STIs and Aids,” said Mr Kuwanda.
Prosecutor Ms Joice Fusire proved that sometime in August 2010, the boy and his sister were left home together with the maid when their mother went to South Africa.
During that period the maid took advantage to sexually abuse the boy since they were sleeping in the same room.
