Hovhorosi Style goes a gear up

One of the songs was done by Brighton Bisiwaki aka Snagger with his group called the 4 Commando while the other one by Brenda Chikaza aka Mixxy.

The songs which were recorded at Hovhorosi Style Records have since hit the airwaves on Star FM, Power FM and ZiFM.
According to Huruba and Pande, the songs were aimed at promoting Hovhorosi Style as a fashion for the youths, business people as well as fashionistas.

“It is the latest style in the country and we salute President Mugabe for his initiative to support and empower the youths of Zimbabwe regardless of their political affiliation,” said Pande.

He said the Hovhorosi Style was a show of the importance of President Mugabe’s signature which has a strong meaning to the youths.
Pande, who is also the Zimbabwe Entrepreneurship Youth Action president, said he wrote one of the songs after being inspired by Huruba on their brand.

“The second one done by Mixxy was to create hype around the Hovhorosi Style brand. It has always been my passion to write songs although I cannot sing. I was inspired by Tupac’s music long back which I would listen to,” he said.

Pande, whose stage name is Jimmyza, and co-designer Huruba aka Herbiza also feature in a local film called “Mugabe and Empowerment”.
The two said they were going to shoot exclusive videos for the songs soon.

Pande said they want the youths to be guided by culture and be able to produce music that had a meaning as Zimbabweans and as a God-fearing nation.
He said soon they would visit universities and youth institutions with the aim of entertaining them and at the same time educating them.

“We will be educating them at the same time, with a purpose of unity and peace. Unity is strength and strength is power,” Pande said.
His co-designer Huruba, who is also the senior board member and national chairman of the Zimbabwe Youth Council, said most people had fallen in love with the songs.

“We are also on a mission to identify upcoming artistes and assist them through Hovhorosi Style Records. We want to empower the youths as Zimbabwe Entrepreneurship Youth Action,” he said.

Huruba said it was their dream to assist the youths in realising their dreams and be able to rub shoulders with other international artists in Hollywood.
Recently the designers of the Hovhorosi Style took their brand a step further to promote peace ahead of the impending harmonised elections by launching the white hovhorosi in Harare as part of efforts to promote peace among the youths.

The must-have white hovhorosis with the word “peace” in different colours including black and green are emblazoned with President Mugabe’s signature and have no doubt become a hit with fashionistas.

According to Huruba and Pande, the overalls, besides advocating for peace, also serve to honour President Mugabe, as one of Africa’s icons in the fight against colonialism.
Some of the celebrities who have strutted in Hovhorosi Style include television presenters Prominence Makaza, Thabani Gambiza, Elsie Mojapelo and Kanyemba Bonzo among others.

Others who have flaunted the white overalls are Mercy “Catwalk” Mushaninga and models from Miss Curvy and Zim Gossip Models.
Musicians Alick Macheso and Roki have been spotted donning the Hovhorosi Style.
