CAPS United ………… (0) 2
Manica Diamonds…………0
YOUNG forward Allen Mukombedzi is making a strong case as the Castle Lager Premiership League’s find of the season after another decisive cameo in CAPS United’s win over Manica Diamonds at Rufaro yesterday.
He needed one touch.
Thrown in during the second half, Mukombedzi announced himself immediately, sealing the match with a composed finish just minutes after coming on. The forward was barely three minutes into the game when he latched onto a pass from Kundai Benyu, slipped past his marker, rounded goalkeeper Joseph Kaunda and squeezed the ball home from a tight angle in the 67th minute.
That goal wrapped it up after Malawian striker Chawanangwa Kaonga had broken the deadlock moments after the restart.
For the second game in a row, CAPS missed a penalty and this time it was Benyu.
Coach Takesure Chiragwi was pleased with the response following last week’s defeat to Ngezi Platinum.
“First I want to thank God who gave us strength to make sure that today we can win,” said Chiragwi.
“Coming from a defeat last Thursday, it was also difficult. Within a few days of recovery, it was a double pain. Losing and also the load and the fatigue.
“But I would like to thank the boys very much because of their resilience and character. They showed character.”
Chiragwi made five changes to his starting XI and felt those who came in delivered.

Leave God out of it please. Is Chiragwi saying Manica Diamonds that lost the match may have done something wrong to God? Let us not abuse the name of God in that way. I have noticed a lot of name dropping of God after scoring or winning matches. Do these people ever stop to think that those who would have lost probably look up to God for results? Stop patronising God please!
