How Mine seek outright victory

How Mine coach Isheunesu Tshaka said after losing 1-2 to Mpumalanga last weekend, they wanted to turn the tide and return to winning ways and to the summit of the log.

They are third with 36 points.

“After our stumble at Mpumalanga last weekend the team needs to win and we are fired up for that task although it will not be an easy feat as a lot of teams beefed up their squads recently.

“Our goal however, is always the same in all our matches and that is to collect maximum points but since we are in soccer anything happens, sometimes we stumble like any other team whether at home or away. Our aim is to stay in the upper rungs of the log and if we get promotion in the long run that will be a bonus but we just want to be at the top,” Chaka said.

The How Mine loss at Mpumalanga saw them slipping to third position, two points behind log leaders Bantu Rovers who will not be in action this weekend although the miners have a game in hand.

In another match lined up for tomorrow, resurgent Zimbabwe Saints hit the road to tackle Hwange’s Rufaro Rovers.

Saints coach Edmore Sibanda said the team expected nothing less than a win.

“In the position we are in, we need to be picking up points and as such we are expecting nothing less than a win when we travel to Hwange to play Rufaro although it will not be easy to claim the three points.

“I have been telling the team that we still have a long way to go and as such they need to focus and take each game as it comes but we are looking at our two immediate games as the turning point as to where we will be come the end of the season,” Sibanda said.

Saints will play How Mine next Tuesday.
