How to hide a big butt

Fashion & Beauty Ann Ruthenburg
Hello again, folks, hope you had a good week. The second half of my year is getting interesting… I’ll explain as time goes on lol.
This week I answer a letter from Thomas who says “Hey Anastasia, I hope you can help me. I’m sure I am the only guy you know who has asked you this question, but it’s getting to me. I am fed up with my butt. I can’t wear a shirt without looking fat.
The trousers I wear sit high up on my waist and get stuck in the middle of my bottom. I am not overweight. I just have a big butt that sits high up. I have resorted to wearing sweaters or jackets to hide it but it’s summer now and I’m back to being embarrassed and teased. Help me please!”

Hey Thomas lol…I can’t help but laugh, not because your situation is funny, but the fact that you think you are the only one who has complained about having a big male butt. It is common, believe me, the problem is most of the men that write to me, do not want me to publish the answers. Thank you for allowing me to publish and answer this, it’s so important, so many men out there I know will appreciate the feedback.

My first advice to you and other men with the same issue is to suggest you check your posture. I know this sounds dumb, but a lot of people are walking now with their butt stuck out instead of tucked under.

Many men walk with their butt stuck out (serious), but it is hard on your spine. To see if your posture is part of your problem, do the wall test. Stand with your head, shoulder blades and buttocks touching a wall, and your heels about two to four inches (five to 10 centimetres) away from the wall. Reach back and slide your hand behind the curve in your lower back, with your palm flat against the wall.

Ideally, you’ll feel about one hand’s thickness of space between your back and the wall. If there’s too much space, tighten your abdominal muscles to flatten the curve in your back. If there’s too little space, arch your back so that your hand fits comfortably behind you. Walk away from the wall while maintaining this posture. Keep it up throughout your daily activities. Changing your posture will automatically reduce inches on your backside (not literally but visually)

Next thing is to exercise those muscles. This can be done by walking or running for a minimum of 15 minutes a day (at the beginning). Aim for 30 minutes to an hour at least 3 times a week. Then try Step-Ups, another excellent exercise to help reduce the size of your butt is the step up. Use a small stool, bench, or steps. Stand approximately 12 inches from the stool or box with your feet together.

Keep your back straight and step up onto the step/box with your right foot, then your left. Step back to the floor, lowering your right foot first, then your left.

On your next repetition begin with your left leg and continue to alternate for 20 to 25 reps per leg. Not only will this help in the buttocks area, but it’s an excellent exercise for your thighs and can be a good cardio workout as well. As your stamina improves, slowly increase the number of reps per leg and the frequency of your workouts.

A big butt is not necessarily bad news. Most women even prefer guys who have a toned “bubble butt.” Still, if you want to trim your caboose, try boxer briefs or biking shorts as an undergarment. These will help pull your butt and upper thighs tightly up. If your butt sticks out at the top (kind of like a ledge), check out looser, wider-fitting jeans with a boot cut, such as carpenter jeans, worker jeans and relaxed fit jeans.

These cuts provide a smoother vertical line when paired with pullovers and T-shirts. When wearing less casual attire, avoid pants with a high waist; the extra height can make the bottom look extra long. For the truly bottom heavy, avoid pleated trousers, which can highlight your hips; flat-front pants are more slimming when it comes to your thighs and trunk.

Top off your look with a ¾-length jacket — that big butt will quickly become just another part of your body.
There we have, men, some tips on how to improve the look of a big buttock. Whilst I am at it, I thought I might as well touch on the big stomach too. Just a little bit. Camouflaging a big belly is the kind of knowledge almost every guy needs at some point in his life.

That’s it, men, from me this week, until next week God bless.
