Hubby accused of locking wife out of house

A STONERIDGE woman has accused her husband of abusing her and locking her out of their house.

Christina Chikwiro said her husband, Bob Maliro, assaults and insults her and has also barred her from their matrimonial home.

“Bob assaulted me in front of our children and they now tremble with fear when they see him. He locked me in the house with no food and I escaped and went to my sister’s house,” said Christina.

Bob disputed her testimony and said Christina stole his money, as well as a solar panel, and regulator.

“When I asked her, she ran away from home.

“I called her sister who told me she was at her place. I went there, but she didn’t talk to me. I never tried to evict her or abuse her verbally or physically,” said Bob.

He said that he already moved out because Christina was no longer interested in him.

Magistrate Sharon Mashavira then asked Christina:

“Do you want to go back to your matrimonial home so that he can assault you more?”

She said she was hopeful Bob would change. Christina was granted the order and Bob warned to maintain peace.
