ZIFA Southern Region Division One pacesetters Hwange and Tsholotsho kept their title hopes alive with wins that saw the coalminers maintaining pole position and strengthening their resolve for a quick return to the Premiership.

Hwange beat Casymn 3-1 and Iziqholo ZeZhwane kept the heat on the coal miners with a 1-0 win over ZPC Hwange at Luveve Stadium to take their points’ tally to 31, six behind Hwange.

Hwange have impressed in the lower division where they lost only one match this season.

Veteran Gilbert Zulu’s brace and an own goal by Wilfred Nzondo helped Hwange thrash Casymn, making it a double against the Turk Mine outfit, who they beat 2-1 in the reverse fixture last week.

The loss left Casymn two points off the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, a hat-trick by Tafadzwa Dhliwayo and a goal from Collins Tshuma helped Indlovu Iyanyathela walk over Main Line 5-0 at Mzilikazi Barracks and leapfrogged ZPC Hwange into third place.

The loss left Main Line tied with ZRP Bulawayo Province at the bottom of the log on 12 points.

Denzel Khumalo, who last week trained with the senior team, continued with his stellar performance for Bosso 90, scoring a goal which propelled his side to a 3-1 win over Moto Moto.

A goal apiece by Xolani Mdlongwa and Brighton Makopa completed the rout.

The two sides had played a 0-0 stalemate in Hwange last Saturday.
