GIFT MBWETI’S solitary strike in the 46th minute earned Hwange their first victory over Triangle in all competitions at Gibbo in this Castle Lager Premier League tie yesterday.
It was an emotional win for Hwange who dedicated the game to 426 people who passed away on June 6 in the Kamandama shaft mine disaster.
“I feel really great and we dedicate this to 426 minors who passed away in 1972 at Kamandama shaft,” said Hwange coach Mebelo Njekwa. “The spirit we had today was to bring joy to the families they left behind.” The visitors were the better side in the first half as they dominated possession with Triangle making a number of mistakes.
