TALENTED but underrated Zimdancehall star Hwindi President will this weekend embark on a tour of South Africa with the first show at Kopano Lounge in Randburg tonight.
The kombi-tout-turned-musician has been in the game for a very long time but hardly gets the recognition he deserves.
“Hwindi’s current tour is by public demand as he commands a sizeable number of fans here in South Africa.
“We had no choice but to accept the demands of our fans,” said promoter Onias Matava of Onias Events and Foundation Sound.
He will be joined on stage in Randburg by a number of wheelspinners among them Mr Gee Warrior, MC Lovex and Tanya Lube, DJ CeeJay and Trixta.
The Ndakusuwa hitmaker will leave Gauteng Province tomorrow for a show at Motown Nightclub in Durban.
He will wind up the weekend gigs with a performance again in Johannesburg where he will play at Phenyane Jazz Bar in Benoni on Sunday.
Hwindi President has previously expressed his disappointment over how he is overlooked in Zimbabwe but gets pampered outside the country.
He has performed before huge crowds in countries such as then United Kingdom and South Africa a number of times.
Meanwhile, Matava has revealed they have a number of shows lined up in the coming few weeks in South Africa.
They have previously hosted high-flying Hwinza and will soon be welcoming dancehall newcomers Khonangale, Mbida D and Libho.
