a?I am not the fathera

A top politician is at the centre of a messy paternity row which allegedly exposed his desire for unprotected sex following sensational revelations by his estranged mistress that she allegedly enjoyed a?hota? unprotected sex sessions with him countless times until she fell pregnant.

In court documents exclusively obtained by B-Metro, Nancy Finnity from Entumbane suburb laid bare her intimate and steamy escapades with Zanu-PF chairman for Matabeleland North Province Richard Moyo.

Finnity confessed that she engaged in unprotected sex with Moyo at the expense of her boyfriend who she was sternly ordering to use protection each time they had sex.

Details of Moyoas extraordinary busy love life are contained in a matter in which he is disputing a maintenance suit filed against him by Finnity at the Bulawayo Maintenance Court under case number M1398/ 16.

In her suit Finnity said she wanted the court to compel Moyo to support a?hisa? seven-year-old child he has never supported since birth.

She said she could not afford to look after their child alone as she was not employed.

She indicated in her summons that the court should order the father of her child to contribute a monthly maintenance of $205 to cater for the childas school fees, groceries, medical expenses, and clothing among other expenses.

a?I am seeking maintenance for the child from the respondent in terms of the Maintenance Act (Chapter 5:09) to cover groceries, medical expenses, clothing, rent among other expenses. The respondent (Moyo) is the responsible person legally liable to maintain the under mentioned dependant (the child) and I wish to claim a monthly maintenance of $205,a? reads part of her submissions.

She said Moyo was the person legally liable to pay the money since he was a man of means who is gainfully employed by Zanu-PF as a chairman for Matabeleland North Province.

In response, Moyo however, disputed Finnityas claims and the paternity of the child.

a?The applicant was my girlfriend nine years ago and she got married to another man called Curtis Nkala. From that time I never saw her and only met her last year when she told me that she had broken up with Nkala and he was refusing the paternity of the child. She then sincerely requested me to support the child,a? said Moyo.

When asked by the presiding magistrate Sheunesu Matova if he was denying the paternity of the child, Moyo said:

a?I am not the father of the child. This is so because if you are having a relationship with a woman and if she gets pregnant she is supposed to tell you and the applicant did not tell me of any pregnancy during the subsistence of our relationship. She only told me about the child when he is now seven years olda?.

Finnity, however, maintained that Moyo was the father of her child saying even if they go for DNA tests the results would not exonerate him.

a?The child is his, even if we go for paternity tests we will get the results showing that he is the biological father of the child. It is not correct that I told him last year. I even approached him in 2011 and during that time we had a discussion where he said we should keep the issue of the child a secret and he was going to support him.

a?During our relationship we were engaging in sexual intercourse without protection and on several occasions, while I was also having sexual intercourse with my boyfriend using protection. That is why I am so sure that the child is his,a? she said.

In his ruling the magistrate ordered Moyo to pay $60 per month as an interim maintenance pending the outcome of paternity results.

Moyo was also ordered to meet the costs for undergoing paternity tests and ensure that the (DNA) tests are conducted within six months of granting the order failure of which the order shall become final.
