I have lost weight because of her

A Harare man told magistrate Tamara Chibindi that he had lost weight due to abuse at the hands of his ex-wife.

Sabastian Jowa said this while applying for a protection order against his ex-wife, Ruth Jowa, who he accused of verbal and physical abuse.

Sabastian said Ruth was in the habit of coming to his workplace and tarnishing his name.

“She is my ex-wife, and since she left, she has been abusing me. Kuonda kwandakaitwa uku ndiye.

“I have another protection order which was granted last year. I beg that the court bars her from coming to my matrimonial home to harass and insult me.”

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi did not allow Ruth to respond because there is an existing protection order against her issued last year.

However, the magistrate dismissed Sabastian’s application, saying Ruth had no case to answer.

“Why are you not using the order which was granted last year? You want another order to stock at your house,” magistrate Chibindi inquired.
