WHILE she is already acknowledged as a Zimbabwean music heavyweight, songbird Ammara Brown wants to go a step further and become the biggest female artiste on the African continent.

Over the past year, the Svoto hit-maker has tried to reinvent herself as a star that can appeal to the whole of Africa instead of just her own country, as she went to the extent of getting herself a new management team while she also moved to South Africa.

Those efforts seemed to be paying off, with Ammara snagging a collaboration with Nigerian superstar Mr Eazi on Svoto, a song that had already garnered over 250 0000 views on YouTube.

Next weekend, Ammara is expected to showcase her mettle when she tries to fill up the Glamis Arena in what will be her first appearance in a big arena as the headline act.

With that show on the horizon, Ammara has notified her fans that her ambitions go beyond filling up local stadiums.

“God-willing and with the right team around me, I want to be the biggest female musician on the continent. I want to work with the very best of the best, and by all means I want to be one of the best,” she said in post on her Instagram page.

Ammara added that even if she fell short of her lofty ambition, she would be happy to have been known as an artiste that was able to live off her art and support her family in Zimbabwe.

“And if when it’s all said and done I’ve managed to raise my beautiful son, protect and provide for my family, and prove that it’s possible to be a financially successful musician from Zimbabwe . . . I’ll be satisfied. I’ll be even happier than I am now,” she said.
