Extension, married with an eight-month child, stunned the court when he said that he wanted to take the 14-year-old for a wife.

Mupangi prophesied ignorance before magistrate Ms Rumbidzai Mugwagwa when he said that he could not survive with a single wife, hence the need for the second one.

“I slept with her because a single wife cannot bear me the 25-30 children I need,” he said.
This forced Ms Mugwagwa to call the man’s father from the gallery to inquire whether he had ever suffered any mental illness.

Mupangi, will spend the next eight months in prison.
He was slapped with a one-year prison term with four months of his sentence suspended for the next five years.

Prosecutor Mr Edmond Ndambakuwa proved that on January 12, and at around 4pm, Mupangi called the minor and asked if they could meet.

She came and together, they headed to his friend’s place for the night.
During the course of the night, he asked the minor to be intimate with him and she agreed. The following morning, he took the minor to his brother’s place and the minor’s mother called her inquiring where she was.

After that, the minor’s mother proceeded to Mupangi’s place and took her home. They later went to report the matter to the police leading to Mupangi’s arrest.
