IAN Tinker has been appointed the interim Zimbabwe Under-19 cricket coach in the absence of Walter Chawaguta who is away with the senior team at the International Cricket Council World Cup.Tinker will be in charge when the Cubs face Namibia in three ODIs as preparations for the 2016 ICC Under-19 World Cup to be held in Bangladesh.
Zimbabwe Cricket says Alois Tichana will continue as assistant coach, with Nicholas Singo as team manager.
Tinker is a long serving development coach. The Namibia Under-19 traveling party is expected to arrive in the country on Friday for the matches scheduled for Sunday the 8th, Monday the 9th and Wednesday the 11th.
All the matches will be played at Old Hararians Sports Club.
The selectors have retained the bulk of the players who took part in the Cubs Week in South Africa early last month, with Zaheer Tufail of Prince Edward and the Churchill High School duo of Richard Ngarava and Takudzwa Chakaodza the new additions in the 18-man squad.
